Instow sits at the mouth of two rivers, the Taw and the Torridge, where they meet the sea. The sandy beach is perfect for families as the water is sheltered and safe for swimming while nearby are the surfing beaches of Saunton and Croyde.
Village amenities include a great little shop and delicatessen, a few good pubs & restaurants using local produce, a quiet hotel and a church - all about fifteen minutes walk from the house.
There is a good bus service (about 10 mins) to Barnstaple for a range of shops, a cinema, a theatre, pannier market and restaurants. Bideford is a market town with little shops and lanes. Nearby are South Molton, a busy market town with a pannier market, and Exeter with its Cathedral and shops. It’s about an hour's drive, or take the Tarka line train from Barnstaple station, through the countryside.
